Transportation in Costa Rica

There are different transportation options in Costa Rica. Tourists ask themselves the questions also, how should I move around? It basically depends first of all on the destination you are going to visit, the budget available and also, the interests and availability for some of these options. One of the most popular transport options is the shuttle service. There are different companies that offer shuttle transportation. The shuttle routes include airport to hotel, but also the popular HOTEL to HOTEL service or DESTINATION to DESTINATION service. The shuttle minivan transport is the most economic and worry free option. You will share the minivan with other tourists going to the same destination. The shuttle transfers have fixed departures from one destination to another, and people get picked up at the hotel and will be dropped off at the hotel in the next destination. Another transportation option is a private guided minivan with guide and driver of guide/driver. This option is perfect for people interested in a private customized designed trip, visiting destination far away or off the beaten path. This option is the probably the best, since the transportation is at the clients disposition and there is the constant knowledge and help of the English speaking naturalist guide. Another transportation option is using local domestic airlines and visiting the different destinations in Costa Rica flying from one airstrip to another. There are airstrips in Tamarindo, Carrillo, Liberia, San Jose, Tortuguero, Drake Bay, Puerto Jimenez, Quepos, La Fortuna and more. This way you will save lots of time, but see less of the also beautiful Costa Rica countryside. Last but not least, there is the rental cars. You can rent a 4 x 4 , minivan, SUV or other cars on a daily, weekly and even monthly basis. You can easily explore the Costa Rican country side independently and more freely. This option is for the more adventurous and people who wish to travel without any pre planed schedules.
