Where to go in Costa Rica
Where to go in Costa Rica is a difficult decision. I hope the following sentences can be of help to you. The best thing is to basically define a trip by interests and to go from there. So Costa Rica `s main attraction is obviously its nature, and second, beaches, ecotourism and adventure trips. If you are interested in some amazing rainforests and virgin tropical nature, then we definitely recommend the Corcovado National Park and the entire Osa Peninsula and also the Tortuguero National Park, located on the Caribbean Coasts. Other nature treasures include the Tenorio Volcano and National Park near La Fortuna, Carara near Jaco Beach is ideal for birding and crocodile tours, Cahuita National Park in the South Caribbean which can be combined with Tortuguero perfectly. There are of course many more, but I would recommend Corcovado and/or the Osa Peninsula and the Tortuguero National Park. Also, both parks are worth at least 2 nights lodging. If you are more interested in adventure, then there are plenty of adventure trips like canopy tours and rafting all over the country, but some areas are especially great for some adrenaline filled excitement trips. First, Arenal and La Fortuna, where you can enjoy white water rafting tours, rappelling trips, canyoning tours, mountain biking, trekking, floating, canoeing, kayaking and much more. The other area ideal for adventure is Quepos and Manuel Antonio, where you can discover the amazing surrounding scenery while enjoying exhilarating rides down wild rivers, or slide down long zip lines through thick rainforests. Another destination would be Rincon de la Vieja, where you can enjoy amazing trekking trips to lagoons, craters, canyons and rivers, or have fun tubing down the Rio Negro, Rio Penjamo or Rio Azul, white water rafting down Rio Cucaracho, horseback trips and much much more. Finally, for people interested in beaches and relaxation, there is the South Caribbean beaches, in my opinion the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. Manuel Antnio`s beaches on the Pacific Coast are very pretty and natural too. Guanacaste is considered the main ebach destination in Costa Rica, with hundreds of beaches, including the beautiful San Juanillo, Nosara`s beaches, Santa Rosa National Park`s beaches, Tamnarindo, Avellanas, Playa Negra, Carrillo, Samara, Pelada , Santa Teresa, Mal Pais and Montezuma and so many more.
